Operator Surveillance Technology
ART, along with an alliance partner, provides handheld data collectors and integrated software for managing operator rounds and routine activities, as well as integrating plant reliability data needed to make informed business decisions.
- On-condition field guidance with customizable alarms and actions
- RFID or barcode equipment identification
- Pen based handheld computers rated for hazardous locations
- Vibration and temperature analysis for predictive maintenance
- Migration from manual paper-based round sheets to field data collection on handheld computers for enhanced data verification and analysis functionality
- Integration with other plant systems: CMMS, DCS, Process Historian
- Alliance partner is the leader in data collection device technology
- ART provides implementation support, integration with reliability improvement efforts, and system customization
Information is not an asset unless it can be easily and quickly accessed and utilized across disciplines to improve operational performance.
Operators are prompted to answer questions about equipment condition. The software allows for customization of the data type needed – numerical, text, date, or a selection from a user-defined picklist. Criteria can be setup to ensure valid data is collected and also create an immediate alarm on an unacceptable condition to which the operator must take mitigating action.
Other features within field data collection system:
- Immediate field access to procedures and other documents (e.g. standard operating procedures, safe shutdown procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, pictures to clarify data point needed, etc.)
- Assurance of correct equipment identification via the use of RFID tags or barcodes
- Ability to track completion of proactive operator rounds and manage by exception (i.e. filter results that generated specific alarm conditions)
- Ability to review, analyze, and approve collected data using integrated software or on the internet (web-based reports)
