Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC (ART) is a professional services firm based in Houston, TX, USA. We are dedicated to helping our clients cost-effectively improve the performance of their facility's assets by focusing reliability enhancement tools and resources where they provide the most return on investment. We continue to add value by furnishing our clients with the processes, metrics and technologies required to create and sustain cost-effective reliability programs. Since its founding in 1997, ART has focused on the development and implementation of technical services, management processes, software and hardware products to enable our clients to implement and sustain efficient reliability management programs. ART excels in the development of streamlined maintenance and operations programs, primarily oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and power industries. ART's processes and tools are strategically applied - based on client objectives - to leverage the use of available technologies and provide our clients with integrated, state-of-the-art maintenance and reliability management systems. ART projects typically involve the development of reliability improvement programs that involve the integration of technical information, client experience and defined performance objectives to produce a proactive maintenance management approach that optimizes operational risk, cost, and performance. The product is a synoptic program that focuses existing resources on performing the correct level of activity on the correct equipment at correct intervals.

Walter T. Sanford
Mr. Sanford is the President and Co-Founder of Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC, and has 20 years of experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), system reliability improvement and management, technical work process improvement, asset management technologies, operations, maintenance management and software development. He is responsible for development, oversight and growth of all company products and services in process, manufacturing, power and facilities industries.
Mr. Sanford developed and implemented site-specific and corporate-wide reliability-based maintenance and reliability work processes for many industrial clients. As part of these responsibilities, he developed the most widely used Reliability Centered Maintenance methodology and software within the Refining and Petrochemical Industries. He also managed numerous full-scale RCM implementation projects for Fortune 500 companies.
John B. Cary
Mr. Cary is Vice-President and Co-founder of Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC, and has over 30 years years of hands-on technical, consulting, supervisory, training and management experience in the petroleum refining, chemical and petrochemical industries, with notable achievements in rotating and stationary equipment reliability improvement. He has implemented comprehensive reliability programs that continually yield substantial gains in mechanical availability. Mr. Cary has managed Reliability technical groups in the areas of metallurgical inspection, machinery integrity, material quality control, data management, instrument controls and electrical equipment. He is Author and presenter of numerous technical papers in the field of reliability improvement techniques. He is an Advisor to Texas A&M University's Turbo machinery Advisory Committee and the American Petroleum Institute's Sub-Committee on Mechanical Equipment.
Mr. Cary manages several Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) projects for major clients throughout the world. This includes analysis review, team facilitation, training, and development of reliability improvement opportunities.
William F. Duncan
Mr. Duncan is an Executive Consultant for Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC, and has over 20 years of hands-on technical, consulting, supervisory, training and management experience in fields as diverse as electrical power generation, transmission and distribution, petroleum refining, chemical and petrochemical industries and biotechnology. He has been involved in the implementation of comprehensive reliability programs that continually yield substantial gains in mechanical availability in these industries while ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations, are within budget and on schedule.
Mr. Duncan has been the lead analyst and/or facilitator of numerous Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) projects for major clients throughout the world. This includes analysis, review, team facilitation, training, and development of reliability improvement opportunities. He has also provided training for clients in the use of ART's ReliaBuilder-RCM software and RCM methodology. Mr. Duncan has spearheaded the development of ART's internal training program and manual for ART employees in the performance of RCM.
James F. Haas
Mr. Haas is the Manager of Information Technology for ART, Specializing in the design, development and implementation of IT solutions and products. He has over twenty years of experience encompassing all aspects of software engineering and software and hardware integration. He is proficient in many software languages and has significant expertise in database design. He is the head of ART's software and IT organization, and also the developer of ART's flagship product, ReliaBuilder-RCM , as well as the entire ReliaBuilder suite of products.
James B. (Brad) Moore
Brad Moore is a Managing Consultant for Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC and has over 15 years of technical, training, and consulting experience in the oil industry, including oil and gas production, refining, and chemicals. He has implemented an operator-driven reliability (ODR) field data collection system, performed multiple root cause analyses (RCAs), and tracked key performance indicators (KPIs) as part of a refinery reliability improvement program. He also has experience troubleshooting process equipment and managing small-scale capital projects. Almost half of his 15 years of experience has been as a consultant focused on completing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) studies for clients in the oil industry.
Mr. Moore has been involved in multiple RCM studies as an analyst and a facilitator for major integrated oil companies around the world. He also has significant experience in the implementation of the RCM results into site task management systems, such as the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), operator and maintenance rounds, field data collection systems, and other databases used to manage proactive maintenance tasks. He has trained several clients on the RCM process and the use of ART’s ReliaBuilder RCM and Implementation Tracking software tools. He has trained clients on the use and management of the premier field data collection system used throughout the oil industry.
Alan L. Rasmussen
Mr. Rasmussen is an Executive Consultant and Manager of Technical Services for
Advance Reliability Technologies, LLC (ART). In this role, he performs, among
other things, management oversight of CMMS data development and
implementations including asset hierarchy, maintenance routines, BOM and spare
parts. He has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas, acquiring hands-on
global experience in project, operations and general facility management of
oil and gas production/processing facilities, including budget development and
forecasting; as well as operations and maintenance of all types of equipment
associated with large gas processing facilities.
Mr. Rasmussen has held many senior positions within major oil companies, as
well as senior consulting positions involving the management of technical
services business units. These experiences involve project oversight and
execution for CMMS installations both in initial data development, as well as
brownfield CMMS optimization. He has experience interfacing with multiple CMMS
platforms, and their applications within national and international organizations.
Donald C. Ferguson
Mr. Ferguson is a Managing Consultant for Advanced Reliability Technologies, LLC and has over 25 years of hands-on technical, consulting, supervisory and training experience in the petroleum refining, chemical and petrochemical industries. This includes considerable experience in the maintenance and repair of large rotating equipment in the power generation industry. He has helped to create grass-root reliability programs as well as establish, manage and control maintenance budgets in the refining industry. He has been responsible for managing training and certification programs for operations and maintenance personnel including regulatory compliance training for PSM and DOT. He was responsible for development and maintenance of refinery operating procedures during a major PSM initiative.
Mr. Ferguson has been the lead analyst or facilitator on numerous Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) projects for major clients in the US and abroad. This includes analysis, review, team facilitation, training, and development of reliability improvement opportunities.
